Mason Cellars Oxbow Tasting Room is the perfect place to explore the wine region beginning at the Napa River Oxbow District. Opened in the winter of 2006, the Mason Cellars Oxbow Tasting Room offers a unique tasting experience; offering complimentary wine tastings set in a country casual atmosphere featuring local artists’ paintings and other specialty home goods for their Mason Mercantile. Located on First Street, locals know it's easy walking distance to the Oxbow Public Market, the Westin Hotel, the Wine Train and numerous other downtown tasting rooms. A delightful place to pause and indulge, drop by Thursday through Monday.
California artist Susan Hoehn is the current artist in residence at Mason Cellars Oxbow Tasting Room. Ms. Hoehn is best known for her vibrant hues reflecting the beauty of the landscapes she paints. From vineyards to seaside vistas Ms. Hoehn captures the essence of the contemporary landscape.
Susan received a B.A. in Art from the University of California at Berkeley where she was schooled in a variety of mediums. She has built a successful art career painting the vineyards of Northern California and is most inspired by summer and fall as the color, light and shadows unite to form that perfect composition.
“Painting is a life long pursuit to gain more knowledge, study nature and paint as much as I can. I try to capture the light, color and atmosphere of familiar settings and strive touch the innermost feelings of the viewer to bring enjoyment and appreciation of the subject.”
Appointments are not necessary unless you have a group of 8 or more people. Private tastings for groups of 8 or more will incur a $5 per person tasting fee.
